Harshvardhan Kapoor Talks About His Debut Movie Mirzya Alongside His Big Sister Sonam

Anupama Chopra goes live with Sonam Kapoor and her baby brother Harshvardhan Kapoor on Film Companion. As the question kept rolling, the delightful Kapoor siblings answered them all without much hesitation.

As Mirzya was all set to hit the silver screen, Harsh did his promotional work alongside his sister, taking silent notes and inspirations as she gracefully answered her set of questions.

Anupama began the live chat with Harsh, asking him where he sees himself after ten years. To this, he answered that he wants to be remembered. For him, success matters but not at the cost at which the audience would not remember him. Box office hits are not that important if people forget his work after a couple of years.

Anupama threw the same question at Sonam. The well-versed actress said that "Art is a reflection of the society". She wants to be doing movies that reflects the current dynamics of that. She went on to say that she is proud of her work in Neerja and believes that that is a movie that will be remembered down the years.

Seems like the two siblings share the same kinda thought process.

Following up that question was: "director or script. What do you think is more important for a new comer actor/actress?"

For Sonam it is story. Well, we had that coming. We all know Sonam loves her books. The young actress mentioned that she loves literature. Sitting at home with a book in her hands is ideally her favorite thing to do. So when she got her debut role, she was excited to play it because it was a complex character.

For Harsh the answer was just the opposite. He mentioned that a script can be bad, but if there is a good director, he can turn it into a box office hit.

Next was "Sonam, you're a model of social works, which are the causes that are closest to your heart?"

The young actress had a lot of things to say regarding this subject. She mentioned that the things that she believes in are the things she takes a stand for. If she believes in literacy of India, then that is the thing she will take a stand for. She has reportedly worked with NGOs like Fight for Hunger where children suffering from malnutrition are given meals.

Although at first she wanted to work on the looming illiteracy issue, she was informed about the harsh reality of children's short life expectancy due to lack of food. Therefore she took up this campaign and started working with them. Besides this, she has also worked with cancer research centers and has funded them abundantly.

"What have you learned through Mirzya?"

The debut actor replied that whatever movies he is working on now would be impossible to do had it not been for Mirzya. He mentions how every scene is made perfect for the actors to perform, how so many people work on the set to make everything look perfect.

"We are all pawn in the visions" says Harsh. He added that he is at the end of the day delivering the movie to the audience, so the only thing he focuses on is his acting.

Anupama also asked Sonam if she has a 'dos and donts' list or would she like him to undergo the trial and error method for the new, young and naive actor. The protective sister jumped in to say how she has a big list of 'dos and donts' and how she doesn't want her baby brother committing any mistakes. History is there for a reason. One must take note, learn from the mistakes and not repeat them.

Lastly they were asked if they would ever join the television industry like their father. The two Kapoors did not seem much fond of the idea. While Harsh wriggled his way out of the question by saying that is a new comer and he needs to build up an audience first and then think of being on a show, otherwise there is no point; Sonam's tongue slipped out the following sentence: "I have commitment problems". Television according to her is incredible but she can not imagine herself being tied down to one location to play a role for years. Laughing the question off, Anupama ended the show on a sweet note.
